Everyone thought the moon was made of cheese, but Lucy knew it wasnt.
She liked the thought of a waxing moon; far better than a waning one which sounded rather sad. Maybe it was the x or the sharp aah sound or maybe it was the quiet little zing that was the tail of the word. Whatever it was it was her favourite kind of moon.
A full moon was far too popular and so boring because of it. The waning was far too sad because it was going the way of the sickle, which was quite ill.
No, a waxing moon was best.
She wondered though, if the sun and the moon always avoided each other because the moon might melt?

Photoshop CS with wacom Bamboo Not sure on time as I did in on and off again little bits at a time. The dangling wax details in the front took 1.5 hours on their own though. I had a lot of fun doing this, more than I expected, only had those daunting 'omg I've got so many little blobs left to paint' feelings a few times and they were easily ignored.
May develop it a bit more, add some texture to make it more moony and more waxy; we'll see.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
